Is all CBD Hemp Oil the same?

Cannabidiol.jpg

It is easy to agree that more and more outlets are distributing CBD products on a commercial scale. Users can easily get their daily dose of CBD and hemp in various forms within their locality. However, is every one of them created the same and equal? The answer is no. Let us find out more.

Cannabidiol

Cannabidiol is better known as CBD which is one of the chemical compounds found in the cannabis sativa plant. This plant comprises of 2 main species which are marijuana and hemp. Both of them contain cannabidiol and tetrahydrocannabinol, better known as THC which is the root causing that psychoactive ‘high’. Hemp nonetheless contains more CBD and only traces of THC and hence becomes the reason why CBD is extracted from it. CBD in general will not provide that psychoactive ‘high’ but there can be some effects which are sought after to relieve depression and anxiety.

Why is Cannabidiol So Special?

Thus far, users have reviewed about CBD’s anti-inflammatory benefits which are great muscle relaxants as well as to soothe aches and joint pains like arthritis. Users who participated in clinical researches have also mentioned about the high effectiveness of CBD which they commonly used to treat conditions like anxiety disorders. As for skin conditions like eczema, acne, and psoriasis, hemp is used as it contains healthy fatty acids.

CBD Oils, Hemp Extract, Hemp Seed Oil

CBD is an extraction obtained from stalks, flowers, and stems of the cannabis sativa plant, but not its seeds. Products that are produced from hemp seed oil do not have CBD in them.

Hemp seed oil has its own set of benefits. As opposed to other oils such as olive or sunflower oils, hemp seed oil is nourished with antioxidants, omega fatty acids, and amino acids. It should be made the preferred choice if you are looking for clearer skin instead of finding a relief for pains or aches.

Hemp extract and CBD oil are somehow synonymous. They are also occasionally simply being referred to as hemp oil. Hemp extract is extracted from parts of the hemp plant that are known to contain very high amounts of cannabidiol and this is what is behind the therapeutic potential of CBD products.

Full and Broad Spectrum CBD Products

The full spectrum CBD products refers to the full plant which is the actual CBD plus the hemp plant’s natural flavonoids, cannabinoids, and the aromatic components known as terpenes which are the essential oils which have therapeutic effects. Traces of THC may also be included as part of the full plant term. Users who seek the full spectrum are usually those looking to experience the ‘entourage effect’ which comprises of the synergistic interaction of every single one of the components mentioned above. However, not all full spectrum products are created equal. Different extraction methods and quality of the extract may result in some having more or less of the other cannabinoids and terpenes. In order to tell the difference, you will likely need to have access to 3rd party-tested lab reports of the product that lists each cannabinoid and quantity found in the product. This fact often accounts for the price discrepancies between full spectrum products at similar CBD concentrations.

As for the broad-spectrum CBD, it contains at least one or more of the other cannabinoids found in the hemp plant, minus any traces of THC. It would be the perfect option for users who do not not wish to have THC in their system. However, not all broad-spectrum products are created equal. Some may only have one other cannabinoid besides CBD, whereas others may have several. Again, this is where you would have to look at the individual lab reports for each product to tell the difference.

Lastly, isolate extracts are the preferred choice often made by CBD purists. They do not contain any THC traces, flavonoids, terpenes, and more which are removed while being extracted, thus leaving only pure CBD behind. Though, in some cases you will find CBD isolate products that have been enhanced with terpenes for their additional therapeutic effects.
